ACC Designated a Sacramento "Focal Point"

On Tuesday, May 23, 2007, the County Board of Supervisors passed a resolution COMMENDING FOCAL POINT ASIAN COMMUNITY CENTER DURING OLDER AMERICAN'S MONTH - MAY 2007. The resolution comes on the heels of actions by the Area 4 Agency on Aging and County Aging & Adult Services Commission to designate ACC one of several Focal Points for older adult services in the county.

A Focal Point demonstrates a leadership role in its area by identifying unmet needs and responding by providing services to meet those needs; provides a visible point of contact, linking and coordinating services for people with a variety of needs throughout their area and Sacramento County; is committed to offering special need to older persons assuring that they might remain independent, safe, and active as long as possible; and offers services including transportation, nutrition, information, and referral.

A Focal Point is a "go to" place for older persons and their family caregivers.
