When looking for opportunities, we recommend using a date range, or scrolling down to view opportunities. Using keywords may limit your search.

How do I get back to this website?

We suggest bookmarking or “favoriting” the link, or you can type in accsv.volunteer.org into the search

Jasmine Holling, Volunteer Coordinator, is available at volunteer@accsv.org or by phone (916) 503-5387

How do I remove myself from a shift?

If a shift has already begun, or if you signed up to be a Special Events volunteer, you cannot remove yourself. Please let the Volunteer Coordinator know if you cannot make it, and she will assist.

If the shift has not started you can go to your dashboard or profile, then click the suitcase or clock symbol, next click the button to withdraw from the assignment (shift).

How do I get back to my Volunteer dashboard?

My Profile Page

What is the difference between a Project and an Assignment as shown on the My Profile page?

A project is any event, program or initiative to organize volunteers.

An assignment is a particular volunteer task to a project that can be a shift, position, or items.

What will ACC do with the Demographic Information collected on My Profile page?

ACC uses this information to visualize Volunteer Services as a whole, and identify trends. Information is never reported on an individual basis; data is aggregated to use for reporting purposes and grant proposals, showing diversity, and capacity to deliver culturally appropriate services.

Do I have to fill out the Demographic Information?

Disclosing Demographic Information is always optional, but it is important for ACC to understand the population utilizing Volunteer Services, and to better tailor our outreach efforts and programming.

Volunteer Project Catalog Page

I can’t find the volunteer opportunity I am looking for.  How do I use the Search?

To search for an opportunity (assignment), go to the Project Catalog and search by the date a project will begin.

What is the difference between “Work a Shift” and “Hold a Position”?

“Work a Shift” is an assignment that already has a start time and end time for a project.

“Hold a Position” does not have a set start and end time which is usually set up between the volunteer and Program Leadership overseeing the project.

HOW TO SIGN UP FOR A VOLUNTEER PROJECT

Why do I need to have Credentials?

In addition to the registration/application form, credentials are a part of the volunteer vetting and onboarding process. A credential is something a volunteer must submit in order to volunteer for that project.

Do I need to finish my Credentials before I can volunteer?

Yes, a credential is something a volunteer must finish in order to start volunteering.

Do I need to report my project hours?

If you need proof of service or would like to be counted as an active volunteer, yes; volunteers can submit hours on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. Capturing volunteer hours helps the organization demonstrate impact, secure funding, and improve program management. For volunteers, it provides a record of their contributions, which can be beneficial for resumes, college applications, or simply feeling a sense of accomplishment.

How do I report my volunteer hours?

See instructions below.

If my availability changes, how do I sign up for additional hours?

I no longer wish to volunteer for ACC, how do I remove my name from your database?

Volunteers who want to remove their account from the database will need to email the Volunteer Coordinator directly at volunteer@accsv.org or by phone (916)503-5387
