When someone you love begins experiencing the challenges of Alzheimer’s disease or another form of dementia, finding the right care can feel overwhelming. You want more than a safe place for your loved one. You want a community where they are understood, treated with dignity, encouraged to remain independent, and supported by people who genuinely care.

At ACC Maple Tree Village, memory care is about seeing the person beyond the diagnosis—and helping every resident continue to experience comfort, connection, and meaningful moments each day.

Comfortable living rooms, activity areas, and self-expression stations encourage exploration, engagement, and familiar daily routines. These purposeful experiences can help residents feel more secure, connected, and at ease.

Private Spaces. Personal Comfort. A Place to Call Home.

Every resident deserves a space that feels like their own. That’s why each Maple Tree Village Memory Care apartment is an individual studio with a full private bathroom and shower.

We intentionally call these spaces apartments to reinforce each resident’s sense of privacy, independence, and ownership. Each apartment includes telephone hookups, cable television service, an individual Wi-Fi network, and outward-facing windows with privacy roller shades, bringing natural light into a personal, comfortable living space.

It’s a place to surround yourself with familiar belongings, enjoy quiet moments, and maintain a sense of home—even as care needs change.

Do You Need an Alzheimer’s or Dementia Diagnosis to Live in Memory Care?

At ACC Maple Tree Village, our Memory Care community is specifically designed for individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease or another form of dementia who benefit from specialized support, supervision, and a thoughtfully structured environment.

A dementia diagnosis is required for residency in our Memory Care neighborhood. However, dementia can affect each person differently, and the support someone needs may vary depending on their symptoms, abilities, and individual circumstances.

Our Memory Care team understands that changes in memory, thinking, communication, and daily functioning can present unique challenges for both individuals and their families. We strive to provide a supportive environment that recognizes each resident’s strengths, respects their individuality, and helps them maintain as much independence and quality of life as possible.

If your loved one is experiencing memory changes or has recently received a diagnosis, you may have questions about what comes next. Understanding the Difference Between Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease

When a loved one begins experiencing changes in memory, thinking, or everyday abilities, understanding the difference between dementia and Alzheimer’s disease can help families make informed decisions about care and support.

Dementia is not a single disease. It is a general term for a decline in memory, reasoning, communication, and other cognitive abilities that is significant enough to interfere with daily life and independence. Dementia can result from several underlying conditions, and its symptoms and progression vary from person to person.

Alzheimer’s disease is the most common cause of dementia, accounting for an estimated 60% to 80% of cases. It is a progressive brain disease that gradually affects memory, thinking, and the ability to manage everyday activities. Vascular dementia, which can occur when reduced blood flow or damage to the brain affects cognitive function, is another common form.

Although there is currently no cure for Alzheimer’s disease or most other progressive forms of dementia, appropriate medical care, supportive services, and individualized approaches can help manage symptoms, support daily functioning, and enhance quality of life. Some causes of cognitive changes—including certain medication effects, vitamin deficiencies, and other treatable medical conditions—may improve with appropriate diagnosis and treatment. That is why it is important to consult a healthcare professional when memory or thinking changes occur.

A dementia diagnosis can bring uncertainty and difficult decisions for the entire family. You may wonder how to keep your loved one safe, preserve their independence, and ensure they continue to feel valued and connected.
