ACC’s 2nd Annual Ohana Walk is a celebration of our community and the people who keep us together — our families, friends, community organizations, and churches. Last year, 750 people of all ages and walks of life registered for the Ohana Walk. They helped ACC raise money to provide programs for older adults and their caregivers. This year, ACC will have a give-back program for participating nonprofit partners. It’s our way of saying “Thank you!”

The Walking Route

View Walking Route

This 1-mile, 2-mile, 3-mile customizable outdoor walkathon event will be held on September 16th along the Greenhaven-Pocket Canal Walkway followed by a picnic at the ACC campus. The 1-mile and 2-mile routes are flat and wheelchair accessible. The 3-mile route is a little more adventurous with an incline overpass. No matter which route you choose, we all start and finish at the ACC Campus located at 7334 Park City Drive. With water stations, rest markers, and fun-filled check-in booths along the way, you will be feeling the ALOHA spirit.

As a special gift to commemorate the event, all registered walkers will receive a limited edition Ohana Walk 2023 T-shirt.

The Ohana Walk Picnic

A fun-filled picnic event will await you as you make your way back to the ACC Campus. Your registration includes a picnic lunch provided by ACC. We’ll have community booths, face painting, live music, and activities for all ages. We will also launch the highly-anticipated ACC Community Cookbook, which features 180 Pan-Asian recipes submitted by the ACC community. The price is $25. Learn more.

Additional Food & Beverages will be available for purchase from Drewski’s Food Truck.

Celebrating Our Centenarians

We are also honoring and celebrating the centenarians in our community. We have met with their families and invited them to a special VIP lunch during the Ohana Walk Picnic.

Detailed Instructions

Starting Time, 8:30 AM

The walk starts at 8:30 am from the parking lot of ACC Senior Services at 7334 Park City Drive. It is a leisurely start, not a shotgun start, so take your time. Arrive by 8:00 am to allow time for parking, socializing, and warming up. We will have fresh fruit and morning refreshments before the walk starts. During the walk, visit the checkpoints to have your card punched. When you return to ACC, drop your completed card in the raffle wheel for a chance to win prizes!

Parking

Parking is available in the lots of nearby Meals on Wheels (7335 Park City Drive),

Merryhill Pre-school (7375 Park City Drive), the County Department of Human Assistance (7405 Greenhaven Drive), River City Medical Group (7311 Greenhaven Drive), and street parking. We recommend carpooling to the event. At 10:30 am, the ACC parking lot will be open for vehicles bringing centenarians to the Centenarian Celebration VIP Lunch, which begins at 11:30 am.

Picnic Area Access, 9:30 AM

Registered walkers and others who have an Ohana Walk wristband will be allowed into the picnic area in the back of ACC after 9:30 am. At 10:30 am, we will begin live music, activities, and community booths. Non-registered guests can pay $15 for entry to the picnic, which includes lunch. Infants and ages 85 and older are free.

Picnic Lunch, 11:30 AM

Lunch service will start at 11:30 am. The menu includes hot dogs, pasta salad, chips, bottled water, pecan bars, and Kona Ice Shave Ice. Additional food options will be available for purchase from Drewski’s food truck.

Centenarian VIP Lunch, 11:30 AM

At 11:30 am, centenarians and their invited guests will be served a meal prepared by Drewski’s catering. They will be seated in the VIP area and enjoy a special presentation to celebrate their amazing lives. We recommend they arrive 20 minutes early to check in and find their table. Open seating is available for friends and other family members on a first-come, first-served basis.

Support Maui

As the world is devastated by the recent wildfires in Maui, we are all looking for ways to make a difference.  At ACC, we believe in looking out for our Ohana and encourage you to join us in giving back.  In the spirit of Aloha, let us share to the best of our ability, and help the people of Maui.  On this page, we have directly linked three local organizations on Maui working with displaced and impacted residents.  We encourage you to give directly to the organizations of your choosing.  Mahalo nui loa!
