Meals on Wheels by ACC Delivers 4 Millionth Meal in Sacramento

Meals on Wheels by ACC serves seniors 60 years of age or better throughout the local area. Meals on Wheels by ACC helps keep seniors in their homes and communities by providing nutritious meals, safety net services, social contact, community resource information and much more. On average over 2,000 seniors participate in our programs in each weekday.

Home Delivered Meals

Eligible seniors who are homebound and need assistance may receive hot or frozen home delivered meals. Hot meals are delivered daily, Monday through Friday, while frozen meal packages are delivered weekly to senior who are able to heat meals in the microwave or oven. Seniors receiving home-delivered meals need to be 60 years old or better, live in Sacramento and West Placer Counties, and meet eligibility requirements that are determined through a home visit and assessment.

All Seasons Cafes

Seniors who want to get out can enjoy a hot lunch at 22 All Seasons Cafe locations throughout Sacramento County. Seniors can meet over lunch and participate in activities, such as card games or bingo or just chat among friends. Seniors need to be 60 years of age or better. ACC Rides provides transportation to eight cafe sites.

Program Support

Meals on Wheels by ACC is a non-profit organization. These programs are supported by the Area 4 Agency on Aging, Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency, and the Cities of Citrus Heights, Elk Grove, Folsom, Galt, and Rancho Cordova. Meals on Wheels by ACC is also supported by donations, both meal donations received from participants and public donations, as well as over 500 volunteers who provide over 5,000 hours of service each month.
