Sean Hidalgo

Sean Hidalgo Named “Game Changer” by Asian American Liberation Network (AALN)

On November 30, AALN honored Sean Hidalgo as one of the “Top 10 Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Game Changers” for the Sacramento region at a dinner ceremony held at the Elk Lodge in Sacramento. AALN advances social justice in the API community.

Sean Hidalgo is the Classes Manager for ACC Senior Services. He runs the studio that makes all of ACC’s livestreaming classes and workshops possible. Since the start of the pandemic, he’s produced thousands of online sessions, helping those isolated at home stay connected.

Outside of ACC, Sean is an unsung hero, applying his technical and storytelling skills to a wide range of Asian Pacific Islander (API) community projects including conferences, film festivals, and celebrations.

“These game changers are folks who deeply care, want to see a better world, and whose efforts are not for show or accolades, but for the simple reason that it’s the right thing to do for their community,” stated Lee Lo, Co-Executive Director at AALN.

ACC’s Jeri Shikuma and Ted Fong celebrate Sean’s award with him.

Jason Jong, founder of Sacramento Asian Pacific Cultural Village, adds, “He’s not only an expert technician, but more importantly, cares passionately about the API community and understands the importance of leveraging his undeniable talent and commitment to telling powerful stories to better his community every chance he gets.”
